Ville de Chambly – urbanisme et génie

The City of Chambly’s urban planning and engineering departments have taken up residence in a former convent. Wishing to preserve the historical and patrimonial aspect of the place, the designer had a clear vision as to the style sought and the choice of materials.

This project is the result of a close collaboration between the various participants: designer, contractor, client and the EMBLM team

Combining architecture and furniture

Whether for the workstations or the lounge area, collaboration was the primary mission of this project.

Take Off open-plan workstations, both assigned and unassigned, are functional and elegant. Large work surfaces topped with felt screens create privacy while helping to improve acoustics. Low-level storage units with electronic locks accompany the offices without weighing down the layout and leave all the room for the architecture of the former convent.

Products used in this project

A space for relaxation and discussion, the lounge area leaves no one indifferent. The designer found a superb leather sofa that is accompanied by Fjord armchairs with a laptop (or coffee!) table. To make the space more functional, Element stools were added. The leather of the sofa is reminiscent of the materials in the divider, while the gray fabric of the Fjord chairs adds texture to the design.

Combining the architecture of a historic site with modern furniture made here is more than possible. This project proves that with the right people working together, it is possible to create a stimulating work environment that is a pleasure to work in.

Collaboration is done internally with the different departments, but also, our consultants will work with the architect, designer, contractor or any other person involved in the realization of your project to make it a success!
